Amnesty Generator is an application that will convert Google Gadgets, millions of web widgets from various galleries, YouTube videos, or other HTML into a custom gadget that you can use in Vista's Sidebar.

Using the app couldn't be more simple, just paste in the HTML that you would normally drop into your web page, pick the picture you want to show up when looking at the gadget in your library, and then hit Generate.

Microsoft simply encouraging more developers to build on Microsoft's platforms.

Instead of relying on small developers who many of them, do not have good enough skills to produce quality gadgets.

Or Microsoft could actually get cracking, and working on making a ton of quality gadgets, instead of depending on the small supply of public developers.

Seriously, Windows Live Gadgets is simply going to go down the tubes if there's not good enough gadgets. Not many good ones are made.

There are lots of people building gadgets all the time. In fact, former Channel 9/10 dev lead Adam Kinney has been working on some cool gadgets lately.

As powerusers, I'd like to see Channel 10 viewers suggest what would make cool gadgets. If you have an idea for a really cool gadget, I'll walk over right now and pitch it to some developers.

Amnesty Generator is not a Microsoft product, by the way. In fact, from the site it looks like they're mainly Mac developers.
