Last week saw a fair bit of chatter on the msdn about developing, testing, and designing software (surprise surprise). Shane Morris will be hosting talks on the, “Age of User Experience – Sydney, Brisbane (2) and Melbourne.” If you’re in Australia in a couple weeks go check out demos of WPF, WPF/E, and the Expression suite, and take home a deeper understanding of Microsoft’s commitment to UX designer. Also Paulo Morgado calls to, “Design as if Testing Matters,” which is probably something a lot of people should have plastered on their walls. On a slightly more concerning note is James Waletzky’s, “Motley says: ‘I am a developer – I don’t test. Testing is for the test team.’” When your developers no longer concern themselves with any aspect of the finished product beyond what’s on their desk, are the user’s best interests in danger?
