While Tina found solace in a greasy cheeseburger, I spent the day playing with all the cool toys and hardware down in Kentia Hall at E3 06. From chairs to fight sims to brain wave monitors, watch todays show to find out how to enhance your gaming experience.

Okay, that headset for first person shooters should have gotten a LOT more kudos.  I've seen a lot of reviews about E3...why isn't everyone shouting about that thing?  Holy cow...does it feel at all like you're "in" Halo?  Being able to look around, and see bad guys coming up behind me sounds incredible.

If you duck, does it relay that to the game?
Well, this was certainly an interesting E3, with all of these new type of new games, consoles, gadgets and devices being introduced.

I really liked this segement. It was cool to see who else was at E3, other than the game developers.

It's kind of difficult to say my opinions on the products shown, because I think I would need to test them out (but, I guess you could say the same for the new consoles and games as well). They look cool though. Interesting demonstrations.

I'm too not skeptical, but I must say there is something about some of the products shown that I think might not work as well as they should.
For example, the Body Pad is a great concept and appeared to be working okay at E3, but as we know, there are moves in DOA4 that would be pretty difficult to pull off with the Body Pad (or even in real life =).

But, I get the idea and it's a neat one. Although, I have to ask...how do you throw with the Body Pad?

I like the idea/direction these companies are going with these products. They are thinking outside the box and trying to provide gamers with just more than a controller, light-gun, dance-pad, or even a mouse. And I support that. Does it mean a better gaming experience? Maybe.

It's a step in the right direction. Personally, I would just stick with the controller and mouse (and dance-pad). I would be interested to try these new products, however.

"WowWii" jokes aside, I did like the WowWee robots (especially the clawed, dancing robot).
the virtual headset and body pads seem pretty cool
Awesome segment, Laura.  You ladies were very busy...I hope you were well paid.  I particularly like the Novint game controller.  Playing Half-Life 2 with that must have been amazing - ultra sensory crowbar action!  The Trimersion looks very promising, especially compaired to last year's model, but I still don't believe it's a practical interface yet.  It needs a few more years of development before I'm willing to pony up the cash (Yay! I love ponies!).  I would really like to get my hands on a robo-sapien or robo-raptor for my apartment.  That would be awesome.  Before you know it, we'll have legitimate robotic pets.

Anyway, great job, ladies.  I hope Tina enjoyed her burger.
I think people are quiet about it, because they're skeptical.  VR equipment has been around a long time.  I would venture to guess at a decade or two.  When I saw it in the video, I was like, "damn...must have!"  But then I thought about it...your gun is following the way you point your head.  Yah, not so realistic.  If the gun also had a motion sensor in it and my gun moved independently of where I'm looking I would sooooo be there!  But for that to happen, the game has to support that (which none do).  The opposite is true of the Wiimote.  In that case, your arm decides where the "gun" and your viewpoint is directing towards.  Someone really needs to make some devices and games the seperate the two.  THEN, I will personally be very excited for this type of thing.
From what I can see, I don't think you are actually correct about the WiiMote, the pointer part of the controller affects where your weapon is aimed, but the 'standard' joystick is used to control your viewpoint.
