Strip CPU! Cooling down your hot and noisy computer...

Some like it hot? Maybe- but most don't like their COMPUTERS to be hot, nor do we want them noisy. So we brought in expert Allen Nation to test out an experiment we found on Tom's Hardware where he actually submerged his CPU in a fish tank full of oil. Hey, even if it doesn't work it's at least good old messy fun! Check it out-oh, and it works:)

That was pretty cool. Course, I see something like that I'm thinking, like they did, about other liquids or plasma that could be used a coolant. The jello idea sounds like it would be worth testing…but why stop there? Let's try one with chocolate pudding, maybe another with (dare I say it?) de-ionized Beer or maybe champagne. All in the name of science!

Heck, use a form of gel and then you can incorporate one of those modern Ant farms (like the one from ThinkGeek called "AntWorks - Space Age Ant Habitat") deals into your case mod.

Wow! This is totally ingenius! I'm surprised nobody has tried this before. I'm going to reccomend this to my friends who spend serious cash on cooling systems. They're using fans and liquid cooling to keep their machines within tolerance because they're always overclocking the damn things. With the fans going, those things are loud!

submerging your machine in an equarium is both stylish and functional. Hook up some LED strobes and put a ventilated cover on top and your set. My only concern is replacing the fluids. Perhaps ecological mineral fluids, like those found Hydraulic disc brakes on mountain bikes wound make an almost permanant solution you wouldn't have to replace. It might be a little expensive, but it's good for the life of the machine.

OK just a note for anybody out there wanting to giove this a go. Australian magazine called atomic has created on with a full cooling system.

The liquid keeps the parts cool but you have to keep the liquid cool. Also a better cooling solution is refined oil know as Parrifin liquid Light. It will be slightly more expensive but has 2 major positives

1) it is a clear liquid
2) vegetable oil is more viscos and we degrade after a while, espicaly when it sites at 40+ degrees. It will smell and start to rot.

I am designing a full system witch will be incased in acrylic and with a peltier cooling system. The other really cool thing to try is when you want to go hard for a few hours you can drop Dry Ice ( frozen Carbon Dioxide ) into the tank and get some nice sub zero temps

Hope this info is usefull. Just want to say that I love this show and there is nothing in this world sexier than really hot geeky chicks.
