If you listen to the speakers they say if you say these things you are a heritic. I'm sure they are being sued. Billions are at stake to politicians, businesses, and scientists.

That program is being sued for misrepresenting the views of the people who appeared on it.

The guy who made that film has also done a similar film about environmental effects, and skewed the truth so badly Channel4 had to broadcast an apology about it.

I live in New Jersey, surprisingly. It's a rather non-friendly environmental state, with lots of pollution issues. I'm certain that's why the state has started offering solutions.

Most of the environmental support here comes from private organizations and utility companies adopting "green technology."

I'm not certain what benefits Texas is offering its residents to adopt environmentally friendly technology now. There use to be a few incentives there, but those disappeared when George W. Bush became governor. I'm not certain what's going on there now. Your best bet is to read up online, and look into any local heating and cooling agencies that deal in Solar or Wind power technology. Everything I learned about state solar benefits came from our installing company. Good Stuff.

If you are into Global Warming this video is a must! A BBC documentary about how Global Warming is not caused by humans and is a political campaign. Very unbiased view.

What state do you live in? Would Texas offer to cover 1/2 the price, or some other form of tax-reductable payments? I've been more interested in being eco-friendly lately, and every little advantage in it, will certainly make me move towards the tedious task or replacing my non-green lifestyle.

Why don't american power sockets just have switches on them? Seriously, then you could just turn it off at the power.

If you use your PC a lot (and the power is innaccessible) you can still save energy by using the awesome "smart plugs" which you connect your peripherals to, they detect when the PC is off, and disconnect the power from everything else.

I changed my bulbs to CFL's last month but this month I bought a 50" plasma TV that sucks 450 watts. Oh well. That combined with my 360 and media center pc isn't helping.

Isn't this how many of us diet. We go all day telling ourselves and others that we are on a diet then go home and eat the house down. Or we buy a Prius then take that cruise.

Great segment, Laura. I'm really into environmentalism and have seen "An Inconvenient Truth" three times since it came out. I even convinced the PIRG chapter at Rutgers University to go ahead and show it at a Pizza party as part of their Campus Climate Challenge.

I then convinced my parents to adopt solar power on the family house. That was damn expensive, but the state will cover half the cost and the whole procedure is tax deductable and saves cost on energy in the long run. It was a little bit more expensive than even I expected, and they had to pay to get the roof redone for the procedure, but I think its worth it.

I'm really strict when it comes to turning everything off when its not in use. I even power down my entertainment center if I'm away for over a day - totally unplug everything. Yeah, resetting the clocks and wi-fi stuff afterward is a hassle, but its worth it in the long run.

I've already been to 18seconds. Naturally, I got my light bulb and I made my parents get them also. I'm in the process of convincing my friends too, but thats a whole other story. Again, great segment, Laura.

It is like a diet, you're good all day then come home and eat the house down.
