Back in my college days (last year) nothing inspired me more than a teacher who really got hands on, and especially if they let me electricute them! Well UC Santa Cruz is experimenting with particle physics and taking their findings on the orad to enlighten other schools and excite little pyro's like me. Check out this demonstration of power and electricity from this years Maker Faire. And yes, there's a real live person in that metal suit.

1,000,000 volts - that's awesome!!! Tesla coils rule! I'd still be afraid to dance around it even with the suit. My father got hit with 40,000 volts off a transformer years ago and it almost killed him. Fortunately, the amperage wasn't too high and, after a week in the hospital, he was able to come home. He still suffers from tinnitus and an occasional out of body experience, but he is okay otherwise.
So, you were going to college and working for Microsoft 10 full-time last year? Wow! You are a woman of many talents, Miss Foy. ;)
