TechFest '07: HD Viewer!

I couldn't resist stopping at the HD view booth at TechFest '07 because of the sheer magnitude of the camera on display. But, to my surprise and excitement - that huge camera is NOT necessary to pull off the amazing technology HD View is giving us. I chatted up Michael Cohen and he gave a quick demo where you can zoom out to almost satellite distance and then zoom right into detailed ground level on these pictures. You have to see it to believe it...so go see it.

OMG that zoom feature is hella pimp.

what's up w/ the video going from color to blk & white? that's annoying.

That shot of downtown Seattle was amazing. I was seriously expecting to be able to read the size of those gloves. That is some seriously fantastic software. Could you imagine how much memory a camera would need to capture that kind of detail in a single shot?

I noticed another "unrendered" early on in the video. More subliminal messages, miss Foy? Smiley

I am very impressed! The xrez images are pretty cool too! http://www.xrez.com/hdview/ I like the yosemite image where you can look all around and straight up and down too!! amazing, I can see hikers and climbers. Just stunning!!
