You have to admit, owning the Z-Dome would make you the coolest kid on the block. Within the Z-Dome immersive experience, the user visually feels like part of the environment. You can go flying over a volcano or really get on that stage while playing Guitar Hero. I took it for a test drive and got all the nitty gritty details for you. The good thing is that it's coming out in a smaller consumer format that regular people can actually afford and there are tons of tweaks you can do to really make it fit your needs.

Looks a little silly really, I dont understand the aspect of a dome enhancing gaming FUN, Although it looks inovative in its design ,Couldnt we all settle for a 30 inch monitor to enhance our gaming needs?, In most cases a bigger screen would undoutabley take gaming to a whole new level for someone who has never actualy had the money for bigger screen game veiwing,I think this dome creates an art of trickery in the brain and makes the user think there enviroment has changed, When yet buying a bigger monitor in real effect would probably have roughly the same results to someone whom could appreciate the diffrence? Interesting Concept Though...
Well...It's different than just standing in front of a large screen. You are actually surrounded by the screen- standing in a half globe sphere. Its the difference between seeing the top and sides of the screen versus having the image wrap around you and run off out of your peripheral vision....oooooh ahhhhh.

basically its like the extreme version of the alienware curved display i guess. http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/01/img_4654.jpg

probably a lot of fun but less fun than a functioning holographic helmet would be. but thats just my opinion, i am like one of those guys who says, probably because i am poor and have to find an argument but possibly not, that i don't understand the whole hd tv rage when i can go to the movies and watch a film on a screen that is at least 10 times larger than the biggest hd tv out there to date, also considering how many times i could go to the movies for the amount of money i would pay for a decent hd tv...

the old revolution was surround sound, now we get surround view.

Yea i guess i can understand the standing Virtual Reality thing, Are they going to release a Desktop version,So i can sit down after a hard days work and play WOW?

But heres another idea why dont we just give people Trips and let them play video games youd get the same effect really, hehe
