Omer Celik and Oguz Bayrakdar produced a flying rescue robot RobotTurk. They were selected as Heroes at Heroes Happen Here Launch at Los Angeles, after this event we made an interview with the team. They are explaining the details of their projects.  

About RobotTurk: The project includes a flying robot developed for automatic video transfer when a natural disaster occurs. The robot will use Silverlight streaming media strength and Windows Server 2008 media services and IIS 7.0 as a web application pool. It's most innovative part is it will be fully controlled by Microsoft Robotics Studio. The robot wil have the capability of flying in a selected region, and stream the video from disaster area; it will help to rescuers to find out what is really happening there, because they don't have a direct transportation to there because of the disaster.[Click to read the full post ]

Two robotics enthusiasts Omer Celik and Oguz Bayrakdar made a project with Microsoft Robotics Studio using 2008 Launch Wave products: RobotTurk. They were selected as the Heroes from Turkey and participated in the Los Angeles Launch Event at Feb 27th, 2008. In the video you can see the details of the project and interview with Joseph Landes-Launch Manager, Ward Ralston-Windows Server Group Technical Product Manager and Norman S. TTNet, the largest ISP of Turkey with 99.1% ADSL subscriber market share, launched its Music download and stream service with 80.000 Turkish songs. The service, offering Windows DRM’d songs and only in WMA format in cooperation with MU-YAP and also powered by MOSS 2007. Songwriters will receive a commission fee from every downloaded piece of art. Subscribers with the cheapest package will be able to download only 10 songs in a month while upper packages offer the right for 500 songs. Only in first day, before even announced, 23.000 songs were downloaded from the service. You, too, can search (using MOSS Search), find and listen to your favorite songs. He explains us what is iRobot, what can we do with iRobot and of course he makes a live demo. I also asked him about Microsoft Robotics Studio and can we use MSRS to program iRobot?
