Omer Celik and Oguz Bayrakdar produced a flying rescue robot RobotTurk. They were selected as Heroes at Heroes Happen Here Launch at Los Angeles, after this event we made an interview with the team. They are explaining the details of their projects.
About RobotTurk:
The project includes a flying robot developed for automatic video transfer when a natural disaster occurs. The robot will use
Silverlight
streaming media strength and
Windows Server 2008
media services and
IIS 7.0
as a web application pool. It's most innovative part is it will be fully controlled by
Microsoft Robotics Studio
. The robot wil have the capability of flying in a selected region, and stream the video from disaster area; it will help to rescuers to find out what is really happening there, because they don't have a direct transportation to there because of the disaster.
