If you’re in New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, or Seattle, then you may want to pop by a Sheraton Hotel. Why? Because those Sheratons have received Microsoft Surface tabletop computers for their lobbies. Hotel guests can use the Surface computers as a virtual concierge by means of an application called “CityTips,” a program which uses Virtual Earth to help guests find nearby restaurants and entertainment venues. The other applications available include “Sheraton Snapshots,” which lets you check out all the other Sheraton hotels worldwide and “The Sounds of Sheraton,” which lets you play music using the Surface as a jukebox.

To see one of the Sheraton Surface computers in action, check out this video:

Visited with some friends from the Destructoid & AllGames community (during their stay @ PAX). Quite surprising to see these tables up close, but they are also fun & helpful features. Hopefully many more hotels will get the chance to use these tables to provide a unique "touch" to any guests visit.
