San Diego to Alaska with a blog, a camera, and two wheels.

While traversing the Western seaboard via motorcycle isn't your cup of tea, I've dreamt of riding from San Francisco to Alaska on my Honda ST1100.  I bought it back in 2002 from a Navy officer, so I can really relate to Brian.  I'd pack my powerbook and a GPS...maybe a map.  That would be a blast.  Hey, I could even stop by on my way through Washington and take you to lunch.  Ah well, that's a few years off anyway.  I've got to make it out West first.

I think this is an awesome thing to do. In fact i am taking a 3 week vacation from 8/2, and riding my Harley from Seattle to Chicago and back (6,000 miles in total). I will be blogging along the way also, and taking pic's along with some video. I will have my trusty EVDO card with me, so will pretty much be connected all the time! The joy of motorcycling is something that needs to be "tried to be believed". Good on you Brian!

How fun! I live in SD as well, but can't imagine biking it all the way up there. Maybe if I still lived in Seattle it'd be a different story. I'd be more likely to  charter a boat. There's info on Alaskan tours (like the Inside Passage) on justluxe.com. There's even a video, which kinda makes me wanna go. Much props though!

The joy of motorcycling is something that needs to be tried to be believed. The idea of traversing the entire Western seaboard on a motorbike isn't exactly our cup of tea.........
