Mario on the 360? Blasphemy! Bite your tongue for even suggesting such a preposterous idea! How could you possibly betray Nintendo like that? I'm just kidding! I think you're becoming an Xbox 360 fangirl, and that's worrisome.

I love the Battlefield series. I agree with just about everything V360 said. Battlefield 1942 set a standard that has yet to be eclipsed. The expansion packs really added new life to the game as it aged. It was one of the greatest World War II games ever made. Then again, World War II is a great inspiration for games and a hard conflict to top.
Battlefield Vietnam was a great idea, but it seemed to dry up before it even started. Almost everybody quite playing several months after it was released.
Battlefield 2 is my favorite Battlefield game so far. It’s beautiful, immersive, fun to play, and very competitive. I happen to like the settings and features of the modern battlefield. It makes for a great game experience. I do not, however, like the weak ports on the consoles, including the 360 iteration. Those games are nowhere near as good the computer standard. I’m skeptical of Bad Company’s success. It feels like the console versions are always lacking features, and the single player campaigns are weak on a mass conflict scale.
Battlefield 2142 looks impressive, though I’ll admit that I’m a little bored of the Battlefield series. I think it could use a few years of uninterrupted play before a new one is released. I’m not sure if I’ll invest in 2142 yet. Perhaps if you gave us a demonstration until your avatar died, I might be willing to invest more time in considering it. Then again, I don’t know how long you’ll last based on your comments. You might want to try fragging some noobs for us instead of sparring with experts. You might be a goddess, but even a goddess has her limits.
I’m a little weary of setting the games in a fictional distant future. I like the Tom Clancy idea of setting the games a few years ahead, but 136 years is a bit of a long shot for something that takes it’s inspiration from simulators.
“Enemy Territory: Quake Wars” looks like a great alternative to the Battlefield series that has an established history to follow. It’s more of a battlefield simulator than an arena game. It also offers some great innovations to the genre like mobile command basses and the ability to assimilate your opponents into your army.
After reading your post, I’m reminded of your time co-hosting Attack of The Show. Kevin was covering Battlefield 2 and graphic cards during that episode. Ah, memories.
