Okay Maker Faire 2007 was quite an event this year.  I met Sam Thompson who built a HangGlider simulator with his Dad.  Hey, some people go fishing with their dad.  Others build simulators using Microsoft Flight Sim.  You hang underneath a quad pod...it's pretty cool.  They designed it for the exploration works museum in Montana as one of their opening exhibits.  It's short but sweet.  Enjoy....

The Crucible is an arts education center that fosters the collaboration of art, industry and community. Through training in the fine and industrial arts, they promote creative expression, reuse of materials and innovative design while serving as an accessible arts venue for the public. But even more importantly, they let me shoot their flame thrower :)

For the second year in a row I attended Maker Fair which is put on by Make Magazine. Now, while last year was a blast- this year was TWICE the fun and excitement. It was bigger and better. I managed to steal a few minutes with Phil Torrone, the Senior Editor of Make Magazine. After congratulating him on the event's success and his stylish white lab coat (who doesn't love a man in uniform?)- he told me what it takes to make the fair happen, to be a part of the fair, and how to get involved in the growing DIY community. Also...stay tuned for TONS more Maker Fair videos coming all this week.
