Now you can add one more option to that extensive list: Encarta. The Encarta option is now available from the “All” menu, which is where you’ll find all of the items not listed directly on the main MSN Mobile homepage. From within the new Encarta feature you can check out a quote of the day, read three editorially-selected articles each day, take a quiz, and try to guess the Mystery Picture of the day. However, the most important feature in the mobilized version of Encarta is the article search feature. How many times have you had to whip out your phone and look something up in order settle an argument? I don’t know about you, but this is almost a near-daily occurrence in my house. With Encarta, searching for the answers to those questions is easy - just enter the term in the search box and go. You can rest assured that the answers you find are accurate, too, since it's coming from the Encarta Encyclopedia. (This is especially good for settling bets where money was involved, too. Not that I would do that, of course).

If you don’t have a smartphone, you can check out the Encarta app here. Otherwise, you can go to the MSN Mobile homepage and have MSN sent to your phone via text message.

<evnet:views>9835</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://on10.net/23646/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext>
MSN Mobile, available from on any phone at mobile.msn.com, delivers news, email, sports, search, weather, entertainment links like movie listings and horoscopes, and even videos right to your mobile phone.
Live Search for mobile is your essential mobile companion – search for businesses, get maps and directions, view live traffic, and much more when you’re on the go. And the best part is, it’s FREE!

We’ve recently released updates to the application for Windows Mobile and BlackBerry phones. Here are some of the updates:

New for Windows Mobile

Collections. Looking for pubs that offer WiFi in Seattle? Want to find a dog park in San Francisco? We can help! Search community-generated content such as Virtual Earth Collections and Google KML and find what you're looking for.

Weather. By far the most often-requested feature: get current weather conditions and a four-day forecast by clicking the Weather icon.

Web Search. Search the Web, news, images, and more just by clicking the Web icon.

Bluetooth Headset Support. Now you can use the speech recognition feature with your Bluetooth headset (available on select devices).

New for BlackBerry

Speech Recognition (for GSM devices with BlackBerry OS 4.2 and later). No need to type – for yellow page listings, just say what you want to find!

Weather. By far the most often-requested feature: get current weather conditions and a four-day forecast by clicking the Weather icon.

Web Search. Search the Web, news, images, and more just by clicking the Web icon.

Contact Integration. Save a search result to your contacts for quick access later.

Download the new version today by going to wls.live.com from your mobile phone.

We’d love to get your feedback – please send comments, questions, feature requests, etc. to <a href="http://on10.netmailto:lsmobile@microsoft.com>lsmobile@microsoft.com

<evnet:views>2905</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://on10.net/22359/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext>I spend some time with Gary Voronel from the Microsoft Mobile Search Group.
