Visualização do Word Online

Edição no Word Online

Visualização do OneNote Online

Edição do OneNote Online

<evnet:views>1089</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://on10.net/23860/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext> Não preciso falar muito. With the the Microsoft Filter Pack installed, Windows Search 4.0 is able to search within Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office 2007 documents based on the text they contain. It also works for Vista too, adding new search capabilities which can be accessed right from Vista’s search bar. Now when you do a search, the Windows indexing service doesn’t just search for file names but also knows what’s in the files themselves, and that makes finding the right file so much easier.

IT admins will want to read further instructions found on the download page about how the new Filter pack can be installed into Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, and other Server products. The Filter Pack also works on Windows Server 2003, Vista, and XP. You can download it from here.

<evnet:views>10183</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://on10.net/23792/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext>I had been using the latest and greatest search tool for my XP PC, Windows Search 4.0, but somehow I had missed this: the Filter Pack for searching in Office documents. It's an add-in for Office 2007 that will finally give IT admins relief from that one user who resists change in all possible forms. The one that reminds you every day that how they had everything the way they liked it in Office 2003 and why did you have to go and change it on them? Who cares that Office 2007 offers awesome new features, they want it to be exactly the same. Had enough? Just download the Ribbon Customizer, an Office add-in that is available in a free starter edition or a paid Professional Edition. Using the tool's built in "Classic UI Tabs" you can turn back time and make Office 2007's ribbon turn into Office 2003's classic look.

However, it would be wrong if I didn't mention that Ribbon Customizer can do a lot more than just enabling a legacy mode of sorts - the tool can also be used for redesigning the Office 2007 ribbon UI in any way you see fit. You can add, remove, and edit tabs, reorder them, create groups, move commands around, make customized tabs you can turn on and off, and much more. The Ribbon Customizer is available here if you want to download and try it for yourself.

PDF can be useful for sharing documents with users who don't have Office installed, for archiving, or for when you want to print out something and you suddenly realize that your printer is out of ink.

I don't save files to PDF that often, but when I need to, I've got a couple of specific tools that I use that makes the process really simple.

Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS

This utility lets you save files as PDF from within Office applications. This Office 2007 add-in lets you optimize your saved files for print or online use.

CutePDF

CutePDF comes in both freeware and a commercial versions. The freeware version is free for both personal and commercial use. The commercial version offers a list of great features and is currently priced at around $50.00 US.

Now, new technologies such as Microsoft Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office system, and complementary solutions such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, are transforming the healthcare industry. They are facilitating breakthrough innovations in areas that matter most to healthcare organizations, whether it’s optimizing desktop infrastructure; protecting patient data; empowering healthcare professionals; enabling your mobile workforce; or reaching new heights in communication, collaboration, and data analysis.

Recently I had an opportunity to sit down for a conversation with some representative customers to talk about their experiences with the new Windows Vista operating system, the 2007 Microsoft Office System and SharePoint Server. What I liked most about doing this particular program is that we feature solutions that span from the complex environment of a typical community hospital to an individual physician practice. Representatives from Englewood Hospital in New Jersey tell us how they transformed HR in their institution using these solutions. Meanwhile, Dr. Benjamin Albano at Twin Cities Internal Medicine is typical of the new breed of younger physicians who are leveraging every aspect of information technology to practice higher quality, safer care while maximizing office and personal productivity.

I hope you enjoy the show!

Bill Crounse, MD Worldwide Health Director Microsoft

Dr. Magee is a prolific writer and blogger who hosts the popular Health Politics site sponsored by Pfizer's Medical Humanities Initiative. Dr. Magee asked me to sit down for a video interview to share some thoughts about healthcare information technology and Microsoft's role in the industry. We also touched on a variety of other topics including the future of blogging, consumerism in healthcare, what's new at Microsoft, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and more. You can link to the streaming video here.

The next two months will be busy with Microsoft healthcare executive forum events in Minneapolis, Austin, Kansas City, and New York. I will also be keynoting at the Dallas Health Industry Council annual meeting, and the Healthcare Price and Quality Transparency Conference in Las Vegas. Then of course comes one of this year's biggest events, HIMSS 2007 and MSHUG in New Orleans. Microsoft's Steve Ballmer will be on the podium this year at HIMSS. I hope to see you there.

Happy New Year!

Bill Crounse, MD Healthcare Industry Director Microsoft

<evnet:views>409</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://on10.net/15783/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext>I'm back in the office after a two week Holiday break. 2007 is upon us, and I look forward to a very exciting year with the introduction of Windows Vista, Office 2007, and some of the first new solutions from our Health Solutions Group here at Microsoft.Just before vacation, I attended Consumer…</evnet:previewtext>

<trackback:ping>http://on10.net/15783/Trackback.aspx</trackback:ping>
